Privacy Policy for SagitPods
This Privacy Policy describes how your information is handled when you use the SagitPods mobile application (the "App"). Our commitment is to your privacy, and a core principle of this App is to minimize data collection and operate primarily with data stored locally on your device.
Information We Collect and How We Use It
The App is designed to be a self-contained podcast client. We do not operate user accounts and do not have a central server that collects or stores your personal data.
- Podcast Subscriptions and Playback Data: All information about your podcast subscriptions, episode progress, playback history, and playlists is stored exclusively on your device's local database. This information is not transmitted to us or any third party.
- Downloaded Files: When you download a podcast episode, the audio file is stored directly on your device's storage. The App accesses this file to allow for offline playback. We do not have access to these files.
- OPML File Import: The App allows you to import your podcast list from an OPML file. To do this, we use a file picker to allow you to select your OPML file. The App only accesses the file you explicitly choose, and the processing of this file happens entirely on your device to add subscriptions to your local database.
- Network Activity: To function, the App must connect to the internet to download podcast RSS feeds and episode audio files from the podcast's original host servers. This is directly analogous to how a web browser works. While the App makes these connections, it does not log or transmit your listening habits or IP address to us. Please be aware that the external podcast hosting servers may maintain their own access logs.
- Network Status: The App checks your device's network status (e.g., Wi-Fi or Cellular) to implement features like "download on Wi-Fi only". This check happens on-device and is not shared.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is your own. All personal and usage data related to your podcast library is stored in a private directory on your device. We rely on the security of the underlying operating system (Android) to protect this data.
Third-Party Services
We do not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only external services the App interacts with are the public podcast servers you are subscribed to, which is a necessary function of a podcast player.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
